All-City and Topo Designs: Second Generation Handlebar Bag

After last year’s successful collaboration with Colorado-based Topo Designs on their handlebar bag, All-City designed a new model to compliment this year’s colorations. These bags are made in Colorado from durable materials with a waterproof liner, oversized waterproof YKK zippers, velcro attachments, and it includes a removable shoulder strap for off-the-bike usage. Head to All-City for more details and head over to your local dealer to check one out!

To coincide with dealers stocking the all-new Gorilla Monsoon, All-City teamed up with Colorado-based Topo Designs on a run of matchy matchy handlebar bags. These orange and yellow bags are made in the US from Cordura, attach via simple velcro straps and utilize a waterproof truck liner interior. Head to your local dealer to pick one up, or to All-City for ordering.

Topo Designs: New Camp Pants

If there’s one company’s products that have been thoroughly – read “roughly” – tested over here, it’s Topo Designs. From their bags to their apparel, this Colorado brand makes products that take a hefty beating. New to the line this winter are these hefty camp pants. Built to last, built to fit and best of all, built in the USA. While they’re not designed for the bike, I’ve found they still work just fine.

Available in three colors and various sizes now at Topo Designs.

Topo Designs: New Rover Pack

I’ve been thinking that I wanted a backpack that’s just a bit smaller than my 22L Klettersack from Topo Designs and this morning, they announced their new Rover Pack. Made in Colorado at a LEED-certified facility and available in an array of colors.

See more photos below and head to Topo for more information.

Topo Designs: New Lightweight Mountain Shorts

I have been wearing the Topo Designs Mountain Shorts since they first got them in stock last year. They are easily one of my favorite shorts and they’re not made from any tech fabric. Sure, they don’t dry as fast, or have any real “stretch” but I love the fit and I can’t find anything wrong with them.

I’ve been waiting for them to re-stock their standard Mountain Shorts to do a little review, but it seems that they went straight to a new model: the Lightweight Mountain Shorts. Guess what? They’re quick-drying, stretchy and come in four colors. Best part is, they’re made in a LEED-certified facility in ColoRADo.

In stock now at Topo Designs!

Packing Observations: High and Low Vis

For the past two days, I’ve been preparing to head back down to Australia for a few weeks. Lauren is there, working again and so I get to spend some more time with my bestest mates. As I was packing this morning, I noticed some color-coordination happening and thought I’d take a minute to shoot these two photos.

These are all products I use and wear on a daily basis. With all the “what kind of _____ is that?” I experience, let me break it down:

Left
Manual for Speed shirt
Rapha Brevet Gillet
Rapha Winter City Riding Merino Socks
Giro Atmos helmet

Right
Winter shirt
Giro Limited Empire MTB Shoe
Topo Designs Mountain Shorts
Topo Designs Nesting Pouches

I won’t even begin to lay out all the orange and camo gear I have…

Topo Designs

Reportage

Topo Designs

The classics never go out of style, they just get a facelift, or in this case, a splash of color. In the years that Denver’s Topo Designs has been in business, they’ve striven for American-made portage that has a modern façade with a classic silhouette. All of their bags are manufactured in a LEED-certified facility at the foothills of the Rockies and while their bags aren’t designed specifically for cycling, they are versatile, durable and innovative.

I had the opportunity to visit Topo’s design and shipping facilities while I was in Denver and was immediately pulling out my card to make some purchases. From a new (out soon) backpack that stuffs into a pocket, padded laptop carriers (out soon), to their classic Klettersack backpack, nesting bags and even their accessories like the Web Belt and Liberty co-branded water bottle, I put a dent in my checking account!

I’ve honestly never purchased them before because I never saw anything Topo made in person. In this case, seeing and feeling was believing. With high-quality, wear-reducing cordura on the bottoms of their bags, you’ll have them for years with no issues.
