Our Web Shop is Live!

We’ve been busy over the past few months, ordering products, and stocking up for our very first webshop. With staples like bottles and patches, as well as jerseys, hats, and other tidbits. All with enough stock for all. Head to the newly launched shop to check it out.

Please note: due to the insane response – seriously, thank you! – we’ll be back-logged on shipping. We’re pulling items now and will be packing and shipping throughout next week. You’ll receive an email when your order goes to the Post Office. Thanks for your patience!

The Radavist Web Shop: Now’s Your Chance to Weigh In

So this is big news for the Radavist as come (hopefully) November, we’ll have a webshop, launching in time for the holiday season. We’re working on a few more site updates over the next 6 months as well, thanks to you, the readers who filled out that survey we offered up a few months back. There are limited financial resources to launch the store, so we want to make sure we stock the things you want the most and don’t worry, we’re vastly increasing the product supply. Our plan is to have it stocked year-round. Included in the list so far are all-new jerseys, long sleeve t-shirts, stem caps, water bottles, another run of Fairends caps, decals, and some other secret products.

I wanted to reach out and ask if there’s anything you’ve always wanted or a product you’ve missed out on in the past. If enough people chime in, it’ll greatly influence what we stock. Drop a line for a request in the comments!

SOLD OUT: Rad Rod Shirt and Bottle Package by Gerald Bowles

Inspired by the great Ed “Big Daddy” Roth, artist Gerald Bowles created this graphic and it felt like such a great image for the Radavist, so we pinged our friends at FUN to print the design on a black Bayside, Made in the USA pocket t-shirt, and a “big gulp” Purist bottle. We’re selling these shirts paired with a set of bottles for $50 plus shipping. For those who don’t want a shirt, we’ll have some loose bottles we’ll put up after this package ships, so please be patient.

SORRY SOLD OUT!

Please note: International Shipping is expensive since this package exceeds the First Class limit of 15.9oz. We’re taking a hit on the shipping cost even at $25 for International Packages, so thanks for understanding. :-)

Help Us Make the Radavist Better

In an attempt to make your experience of this site better, we’re working on a re-design, with some new branding, and some new ideas, but I’d like to kindly ask to take a few minutes of your time to fill out a questionnaire we compiled in hopes of understanding how you, the readers, use this website. We’d also like to encourage you to write to our Contact email address with any concerns or critiques, again to make this a better place!

Also, the time has come to finally bring on some more authors, specifically women! So if you’re a female (femme) photographer and a writer, or perhaps a writer that can shoot photos too, please email our Contact email address with samples of your work and let’s chat!

You can find our anonymous survey at this Google Docs link!

Side note: check in below where I’ll address any points coming through the results…

The Radavist’s 2017 Photographic Year in Review

Reportage

The Radavist’s 2017 Photographic Year in Review

At the end of each year comes a state of reflection over here at the Radavist. One where I look back at all the imagery created over the previous twelve months and begin to compile a visual catalog of this site’s many narratives. From Peru to Pennsylvania, the autodidact raconteurs who contribute to the Radavist do a damn fine job at documenting their lives, experiences and the people who make this tight community come alive.

This year, I attempted and failed at the year in review post multiple times. For some reason, the linear narrative felt too contrived, too forced. The content, or photographs rather, wanted to live on their own to tell their own tales and come alive once again. In the internet era, moments are often lost to the ephemeral experience of web publishing, which is why I find galleries like this so important to not only this website in particular but our community as a whole.

Please enjoy these photos, these vignettes into each photographer’s life experiences. Bear no mind to the captions, since altering those would in turn, alter their original Reportage. Instead use them to jump-start your mind, perhaps driving you to search back through the archives.

Thanks to the many authors who make this website what it is, continue to share the stoke and thank you, the readers, for coming back!

Byways Bottles Have Shipped

First, thank you so much for the overwhelming support of the products we sell here on the site. Second, I’m sorry our products like these bottles are so hard to get ahold of. There’s an economy of scale issue that needs addressing for products over here and we’re working on it. That said, we’ll be opening a jersey pre-order up in the next few weeks and there will be a big water bottle order going in around the same time.

My question to you is, which bottle design do you like? and in what size? Big bottle, or small?

It Takes a Village: The Radavist’s 2016 Year in Review

Over the years, we’ve all really strived to make the content and the characters here on the Radavist unique. It’s been a slow process, but as I’ve just spent a week sifting through the site’s archives from 2016, I can honestly say this has been our best year yet. These year-end recaps are always a joy to collate, as it allows everyone here at the site, as well as the readers to look back and relive some our favorite moments.

2016 was busy. Very busy. In fact, the archives are almost twice as long as the previous year’s, which were almost twice as long as the year’s prior, making editing the site’s content into a digestible post challenging. We’ve omitted bicycle reviews and Beautiful Bicycles for obvious reasons, leaving only ride, travel and shop visit Reportage as the meat of the gallery and storyline. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did and I’d like to thank everyone for making this site, well, rad! That includes you, the readers and the commenters. I couldn’t ask for a better community.

Before things get too sappy, read on below for the Radavist’s 2016 Year in Review.

SOLD OUT! Howdy Western Shirt Series – the Cactivist

“Howdy” is an abbreviation of “how do you do?” and when you say it either on the street or trail, it always gets a smile. Using Western-themed cartoons as inspiration, I pinged Kyler Martz to do a couple of shirts, the first being the Cactivist.

They’re printed on American Apparel white cotton pocket t-shirts, with three color hits by our friends at FUN. In stock now for $28 + shipping. Scoop one up below. Sorry sold out! These will ship on Friday. Thanks for your support!

SOLD OUT: The Radavist Slipmats v2

They’re back! This time, in a simpler design. These are printed on thick black felt with the Radavist rune text in tan. I’ve upped the run to 200 this round, so everyone should have a chance to pick one up.

There aren’t discounts for multiple slipmats, because the shipping goes up with each additional one. If you order 2, they’ll both come in the same package. They’re $12 shipped in the USA ONLY. Because of the size of the mailer these come in, shipping internationally is almost $20. Sorry!

If you’re in Los Angeles, Mark at Vacation Vinyl has a few in stock as well. Scoop one, or a pair up below. Sorry SOLD OUT.
