I hope your winter break was refreshing and that you got some miles in over the Holidaze. We’re back in 2022 with the first of our 2021 year-end recaps, beginning with everyone’s favorite: the Top 10 Beautiful Bicycles of 2021. Like years prior, I compiled this list by traffic, comments, and social media/backlink chatter, also omitting bikes from Open House/Expo style showcases. There are some real gems in here, so let’s get to it!

We Fixed Our Webshop
As you might have noticed when we dropped our Winter product last week that the UX for the webshop was not so hot. We rushed it to get the collection live and shipping as soon as possible since it had already been delayed for so long. Well, we have now had some time to massage the design a bit more. Now when you click on the Shop link, it’ll take you straight to The Radavist’s shop at The Pro’s Closet. We should have done that from the beginning but well… you know how it goes.
We’re also working on a Bikes and Gear sub-shop that contains my personal picks from TPC’s incoming queue. Josh and I will be updating this regularly with steel/ti bikes we think the readers would be interested in, along with other components, accessories, and bike frames. Since TPC gets in hundreds of bikes a day, this will make it a bit easier for all of you to see some fun and funky bikes that we catch as they hit the inventory.
Once again, thanks for your patience and if you have any feedback, drop it in the comments and I’ll take it to the team!

Our Winter ’21 Drop Is Live!
With supply chain shortages, backlogged production, and having to find a new screen printer who could actually get shirts for us, I thought this day would never come but we’re here, finally! Our Winter drop is live in our webshop via The Radavist shop at The Pro’s Closet. We’ve got collaboration artist bottles with Shaun Marcus from Silver Stallion, a Radasnake design from Collette Marie that’s been over a year in the works, colored stem caps, a re-up of our Bobby Dixon-designed DUNE-inspired top caps, new sock designs by Cari Carmean, and as always, our LAND-designed logos on classic t-shirts.
I also thought it would be nice to include some of TPC’s Certified Pre-Owned bikes and new products in the webshop as well. You can sort the goods by “Merch“, “Bikes“, and “Gear“. I’ll personally be updating this list weekly, so check back for a curated look at fine steel and titanium bikes that TPC gets in stock. Like that Rivendell Roadeo for $2224.99…
Now that the good news is out of the way, it’s time for some bad news. We’ve tried to get international shipping handled but since The Pro’s Closet is now shipping all of our merch, they will only ship to the US and Canada. We’re trying to figure out a solution to this problem but right now, your best bet is to use an international forwarding company… I’m really sorry to be the bearer of this news and I’m hoping we can work this out sooner than later. Another note is our head-banging experience trying to integrate Shopify in our WordPress website. It sucks. They don’t want to play with each other, so apologies for the multiple windows you’ll have to open in order to pick out your goods! The last bit of good news is TPC ships with FedEx so you’ll be receiving your goods MUCH FASTER from here on out!
Thanks for your patience in this transition period! If you’re a web developer who has successfully mated WordPress and Shopify, I’m all ears!
Thanks for your support!
-John

A Sneak Peek At Our Winter Drop
Normally, we would have launched our Winter Drop this week but a few things have delayed the launch, particularly (you guessed it) shortages for t-shirts. We’re in the home stretch now, however, and we’ve got a pretty robust launch on the way. Our webshop is still technically down, although our existing product is live on The Pro’s Closet, and our portal will be redesigned this week. We’ve got shirts, bottles, stem caps, and more on the way. We’re hoping it’ll be live the first week of December and we’ll be sure to get your order out ASAP since all of our goods are being fulfilled in Colorado by The Pro’s Closet’s staff.
Keep your eyes peeled here for an announcement shortly!

We’d Like to Welcome Josh Weinberg to The Radavist’s Editorial Team
Perhaps you read our announcement last month about The Radavist merging with The Pro’s Closet?
These are exciting times, and we’re excited about many new initiatives. One of those includes hiring an editor to help take some workload off my shoulders.
After running this platform solo for 15+ years, I think it’s safe to say it’s time for a right-hand editor to help out. Well, we put out a call for applications for this position, had some great interviews, and were pleasantly surprised to find one of our endemic contributors fit the role perfectly.
Josh Weinberg has penned and photographed some wonderful pieces for The Radavist over the years and his contributions will help with our vision for 2022 and beyond. For the past few years, he’s spent his time working for Arizona State University where he used SEO and other web tactics to grow its online degree programs. We’ll be tapping into Josh’s knowledge for growing The Radavist while leaning heavily on his photography and organizational skills to continue our pursuit of documenting cycling’s Radical Atavists.
We compiled a list of some of the stories Josh has shared with The Radavist over the years below in our Related Archives, so take a few minutes to check those out!
I’d like to personally thank Josh for being such a solid companion over the years and look forward to seeing him grow his role here at The Radavist! I might add, he’s got a stellar eye for medium format photography, so be sure to give him a follow on Instagram!

Our Web Shop Will Be Down for a Few Weeks
We’ve been working behind the scenes to send our goods to The Pro’s Closet’s facilities and so we’re closing the Web Shop for a few weeks while we shuffle things around and receive our Holiday product. In the meantime, you can still buy our current stock over at The Pro’s Closet.
We’re hoping to relaunch our webshop with new merch in mid-November. Thanks for your patience!

We Restocked our Camp Hats (Finally!)
First of all, can we just say “THANK YOU” for your patience? A lot of you pre-paid for these hats back in May when they were supposed to be in stock in June. Well, with supply chain shortages at the cotton factory it took four extra months to get our new run of Camp Hats in stock. This season, we went with the popular Caliche (brown), River Rock (cool grey), and Obsidian (black). These are the exact same caps as our last run, with a brass closure, brushed organic cotton fabric, our folk-art inspired Jackal on the front, and The Radavist text logo on the back.
They’re in stock now for $45 at the Radavist Web Shop.

Price is $250 + shipping via USPS Priority in the United States only!

The Radavist Spring.Summer Drop is Coming Next Week
First, we’d like to thank y’all for all the support over the years. We’re getting a lot of messages asking when we’re restocking short sleeve shirts, bottles, and other items. Well, two weeks ago we re-upped some of our classic bottles, Desert hats, Dynaplugs, and more but we didn’t make an announcement. Next week, we’re dropping three shirts, new decals, bottles, and more as part of our Spring.Summer drop. With delays in manufacturing, we’ll be trickling out more over the course of the summer but the big restock is coming next week, so stay tuned.

Our Webshop Has Some New/Restocked Items and Some On Sale
To make room for our forthcoming Spring collection and to commemorate our new office space, we’ve put our remaining t-shirts on sale. After we did inventory when we moved, we found a dozen more Caliché hats in our stock, some AARN rings in 28t and 32t, so they’re on the site as well.
We also launched a few new products including an obsidian wool Snake Sock, new pinecone colored Yucca Socks, a new Radavist edition Dynaplug Racer Pro in obsidian, and Dynaplug refills.
As always, everyone here at the Radavist thanks you for your continued support!

We’re Taking President’s Day Off…
… to move into our new office! Since relocating to Santa Fe last March, we’ve been looking for an office to run the webshop out of and to solidify the life/work balance. We finally found one, only a short bike ride from our house, so we’re going to be spending the day moving into it. We’ll see you back tomorrow with plenty of Radar and great Reportage to whet your appetite. I hope you can enjoy this day off.

New 44RN MTB Chainrings and Camp Hats in Stock!
Well, we finally received our last two products for our Winter drop. In stock now are two sizes in our new 44RN MTB chainrings (28,32t) as well as three colors in our new camp hats. All are in stock in the Radavist Webshop and we’ll be shipping all week!
Apologies for the slow-trickle of products over the past few months but as you’re well aware, Covid-19 has caused severe delays in production. Thank you for your continued support.
