Since it’s FFC, I was expecting this to be a track bike video, so the BMXs were a surprise. It’s a whole different vibe when you’re not pedaling all the time, huh? Shot by Werehaus.

Victor from Archive Bags and His Raphael Cross
As a small business owner, it’s not easy to get out and ride every day. Victor owns and operates Archive Bags and as a gift to himself this year, he ordered a Raphael Cycles cross bike, strictly for off-road action in GGP. A couple weeks back, he spent the afternoon with Six, who posted up a bunch of photos on his Flickr. Checkem out! That’s a great looking bike Victor.

Forest Parker Rides with the Chrome District
One of my favorite riders to watch slay the fixed 29’r with grace is Forest Parker. Here’s a new video promoting Chrome’s new District backpack. Filmed by Colby Elrick of SKYLMT.

Remember these? Well, Krista just printed up a run and they’re available now. Pick one up at Lonely Boy Fabrications‘ web shop here. While I could simply bow out of Merckx Mondays with that gem, I’ve got more in store for you below.

City Grounds: Rapha Cycle Club SF Visit
I really love the vibe that the Rapha Cycle Club in SF emits. Everyone from couriers, to club riders and even the PROs hang out, drink coffee and discuss the thing we all love: cycling. Check out this video City Grounds made on a recent outing to SF.
See more photos and a write-up at City Grounds.

Soma: Sutro Tower Cap
I don’t know how I missed this new cycling cap from SOMA. It features an illustration of the Sutro Tower and the signature SF rolling fog. Pick one up here and check out SF Gate for a little back-story of the famous San Francisco landmark.

AMGEN Tour of California #ATOC: Stage 02 – San Francisco
This morning I found myself walking up to the second stage of the AMGEN Tour of California not knowing what to expect. I didn’t attend the opening day in Santa Rosa, nor did I experience the Sunday afternoon crowds that flooded the city, so I had no idea what awaited in San Francisco.
SF is a cycling-savvy city, to say the least and the reception, especially on a Monday morning, was warm. Each team’s caravans bustled on the inside, as their bikes were neatly leaned against the side. Fans walked up, commented on gear and patiently awaited for the athletes to leave their busses.
Once a team would exit, they were swarmed with fans, flashing their iPhones, interrupting them for a photo and it quickly became apparent that it was going to be an energetic morning. Rather than go too much more into it, I’ve compiled a nice Photoset, only of the start. We didn’t make it to stage itself, or the finish, but I’m happy with how these came out.

Merckx Mondays
While I didn’t get the chance to do a Shop Visit at Pushbike, I did manage to get some great Merckx Mondays content. Sarah has quite the collection of Eddy Merckx memorabilia at the shop, so if you haven’t been, you should really check it out. For now, see more below!

Deal With it TV: Snow O’ Connell
Matt Rice has been shooting video for Snow over the past few months and I gotta say, I really, really enjoyed this. It’s creative, ballsy and a lot different than a lot of the FGFS videos I watch. Snow makes damn good use of the environment and his smooth, 29’r style is fast and precise. Good job dude, I’m diggin’ it!

A Wall of Fresh Freight at Pushbike
How rad is this? While I was at Pushbike today, Travis dropped off a whole lotta color in the form of these Freight Baggage backpacks. They’re in stock now at Pushbike, so swing through and pick one up. The conversation seemed to center around the yellow bag…

Full Fingerflip Collective
It’s Sunday. That means it’s dude day. At least that’s what I found out when I bumped into “those guys” in Full Frame Collective. I remember riding skateboards out to jib spots when I was in middle school but of all the places to ride in SF, these dudes just thrashed a 4″ curb for two hours. Long enough for me to get sunburnt and catch a few flicks.

Back in SF for the Amgen Tour of California
No, really. I’m back in SF yet again. This time I’ll be covering the Amgen Tour of California. I couldn’t make it to the start today, but coverage will begin tomorrow. My week will end in Los Angeles, so maybe I’ll see you there? More to come…

SF Randomness By Day and Night
Roll two from my last trip to SF was kinda all over the place. Terry from Full Frame Collective gave me a roll of expired HP5 and it ended up developing quite nicely. The photos enclosed in this gallery are as you’d expect from a weekend like RideNStyle. A lotta boozin’, late night cruizin’ and sightseeing. Enjoy.

Full Frame Collective: JSN and Me at the MASH 1-Year Alleycat
Look, I know this blog can be a tad narcissistic from time to time but as a “photographer”, I rarely find myself behind the glass. Or in this case, behind Zeiss glass. So when I see a rad photo of me and a homie, I have to give it some love. I had a fucking, absolute blast in SF last time and it was all because of a rad network of friends I’ve made over the years. Say what you will about the point and shoot 35mm camera craze that’s enveloped the young people in major cities throughout the US but Full Frame Collective has some of the most talented photographers running the show. Take Terry B for example. When he’s not shotgunning fruit juice at the hands of 18 year olds, he’s taking snaps with his ultra-wide Zeiss lens on his Contax SLR.
Check out more photos by Terry and Dylan from the Mash 1-Year Anniversay alleycat at FFC and long live grain.

#FixieFamous Party at the Messenger Mansion
I really, honestly have very little recollection of this roll. Rather than deleting a bunch of photos, I’m putting them all up. Sorry Crihs. With everyone in town for RideNStyle, Chas decided to have a party at the Messenger Mansion. As expected, a ton of people showed up for the band and the booze but stayed for the shenanigans. This included drawing all over poor Jerome and throwing water balloons as we downed a bottle of Bookers.
As the night got out of hand, Chas relocated the party to Dolores where a highschool prom had apparently ended. The rest of the night was spent convincing girls in sequined dresses to fly down a metal slide on a skateboard. Yeah, blurry night.
