Using their Max 45 fork as inspiration, the Matador is next stage in the evolution of an all-road fork. The Matador uses a 12mm thru-axle and maintains clearance for 45mm tires. Where the Matador differs from the Max 45 is the flat mount brake and a longer rake of 55mm. It also has hidden fender mounts. See more at Seven.
Seven Cycles has released a new road bike, the RedSky, a medium-reach road bike, suitable for all road conditions and with enough clearance for a 32mm file tread tire, even dirt. The frame comes with optional, hidden fender mounts. The 5E road fork comes in 8 different rakes, which allows them to optimize handling for riders across the size spectrum, as well as addressing issues of toe overlap for smaller riders.
RedSky can be built with a choice of build kits from SRAM, Campagnolo or Shimano and is available now from Seven.
Mo, or “Meaux”, Bruno Roy was at the 2015 Cyclocross Nationals here in Austin, where I shot her Mudhoney Pro cross bike. Then, with all the madness that ensued after the postponement of the main event, I totally blanked on posting the photos.
That is until the news yesterday that Mo had retired from professional cyclocross racing. While she won’t be hanging up cross racing all together, her days of UCI events have come to a close. Now, I’ve only met Mo once but she seems like the type of person who is riding bikes for the love of the sport. Her and her husband Matt were so kind and generous, I can’t see her disappearing from their local New England scene. What I’m saying is, I doubt this is the last time you’ll be seeing this bike!

The Mavic 125ans Project came about to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the company. After the release of the Ksyrium 125 wheel in France earlier this spring, Chad Moore of Mavic USA reached out to a select group of frame builders who they felt were standouts in the industry.
Argonaut Cycles – working with designer Garrett Chow, Lynskey Performance, Mosaic Cycles – working with designer Zach Lee on their paint design, Ritte Cycles and Seven Cycles were contacted directly by Mavic.
Each builder was given a timeline and other than that, full artistic reign over their project bike. Looking to the Ksyrium 125 wheel for inspiration, each builder approached this unique collaboration in a way that represented what Mavic means to them and their brands.
These bikes will be released at Mavic’s brand communications center and Service Course in Los Angeles on 10 July, but I got a special sneak peek at the bikes yesterday, as I shot each in detail within the Mavic mechanics area. Both the Ritte and the Seven 125ans bikes will be auctioned off at the Pros Closet later this fall.
