Spring Classics: Rapha Shaving Cream

It’s spring time, that means for those of you who live in frigid parts of the world, shaving has slowy made its way back into your morning routine – for us Texans, we never really quit.

Let’s be honest here for a second: I enjoy shaving about as much as I enjoy doing product reviews like this and while prior to being gifted this tin, I was more likely to use soap or shampoo to shave with, I do love the way this cream smells!

Team Argonaut + River City Bicycles + Rapha

The Rouge Roubaix exceeded mine and Ben from Argonaut‘s expectations. I don’t think anyone involved with that trip knew how that race would unfold. Backtrack to a few months prior, team Argonaut had the idea to pull Brian Vernor in to do a video and bring me down to shoot the race and document the new Disc Racers.

We spent the two days prior to the race testing out the bikes and looking for key vantage points to photograph the event. While Vernor got his video footage, I took some photos of the bikes and (part of the) team River City / Rapha. These photos are to be used on the Argonaut website…

Check them out in the Gallery and see the bike in person at the Aether NYC event this Friday!

Rapha Cycle Club NYC: Greg LeMond Exhibition Opens Tomorrow

Three-time Tour winner Greg LeMond is having an exhibition at the Rapha Cycle Club NYC beginning tomorrow. To kickstart the event, Jeremy Dunn put together an interview with the cycling legend at the Rapha Blog which I recommend reading. This interview coincides with a forthcoming collection of clothing including a jersey, sun sleeves and a cap called To the Sun.

Interviewed: Christopher and Graeme Raeburn on their 2013 Rapha Collection

With the success of the Rapha Raeburn line earlier this year, my friends at the Rapha North America office reached out to me for a different kind of press. I was very impressed with what the first Raeburn line accomplished: high end, performance cycling wear, manufactured in the UK and developed by one of the UK’s most renown fashion designers, Christopher Raeburn.

Check out my interview with Christopher and his brother Graeme Raeburn for Rapha below!

Down and Orange

Down and Orange

This fall, I’ve embraced the hue of the season. Hunter, or safety orange and two brands have done the same: Giro and Rapha, each in their own unique way. A wise man once told me that a *down vest, or jacket could be the difference between an enjoyable ride and an utterly miserable death march.

Rapha: AW13 Deep Winter

One thing I’ve always respected about Rapha is scouting the perfect locations to photograph their seasonal lookbooks. This is deep winter. I.e. the reason I live in Texas. It takes a special kind of human to want to venture out in conditions like this, so if you’re going to do it, make sure you’ve got the right gear….

Packing Observations: High and Low Vis

For the past two days, I’ve been preparing to head back down to Australia for a few weeks. Lauren is there, working again and so I get to spend some more time with my bestest mates. As I was packing this morning, I noticed some color-coordination happening and thought I’d take a minute to shoot these two photos.

These are all products I use and wear on a daily basis. With all the “what kind of _____ is that?” I experience, let me break it down:

Left
Manual for Speed shirt
Rapha Brevet Gillet
Rapha Winter City Riding Merino Socks
Giro Atmos helmet

Right
Winter shirt
Giro Limited Empire MTB Shoe
Topo Designs Mountain Shorts
Topo Designs Nesting Pouches

I won’t even begin to lay out all the orange and camo gear I have…
