Rogue Panda and Collette Marie Launch “Food Chain’s a Bitch” Custom Fabric Design

Our friend Collette is an artist living in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She designed this logo called “Food Chain’s a Bitch” for Matt from the Monumental Loop. Matt used it in his custom Rogue Panda framebag and after much demand, Rogue Panda has offered this as a custom design option for their framebags! See more at Rogue Panda under “more” options for the fabric choices.

We’ve got a project we’re really excited to launch with Collette, so say tuned for future updates as events warrant…

Doom Bars: Bikepacker’s Delight and New Website

I’ve been riding DOOM Bars since the brand first launched last year on my Retrotec singlespeed. Bailey has been sending them on his basket bike and late last year, I added them to my Sklar tourer as well. Today we featured Kyle’s Sklar touring bike, which features the new “Bikepacker’s Delight”, a bar with 19-degree backsweep, a 5” wide stem clamp area (for bags and such), 38mm rise (1.5”), and come shipped at 875mm wide (34.4”), which can be cut to 780mm with a 185mm grip area.

While the black powdercoated Bikepacker’s Delight are sold out, DOOM still has nickel-plated bars in stock (pictured above). These bars are perfect for singlespeeds, trail bikes, tourers, klunkers, and the like. We’re stoked to continue to support New Mexico-based makers and are more than excited to continue to support DOOM in their endeavores.

the Service Course: Argonaut Cycles

Our friends at the Service Course are working with Argonaut Cycles now and are the exclusive distributor for the UK, Europe, and Australia customers. Here’s a quick video profile on the brand, introducing their new partnership:

From humble beginnings building steel frames by hand, Ben Farver and the team behind Argonaut Cycles now produce some of the finest custom carbon bikes in the world, controlling the entire process from raw material through to final build at their high tech composite facility in Bend, OR.

Taking inspiration from F1 race cars and aerospace engineering as much as the personal connection forged with every Argonaut customer, their latest creation is the RM3: an “argument” to the wider cycling industry as the most complete road bike imaginable, uniquely tuned to the exact requirements of each rider.

Boone Technologies: Cranx! Machined Aluminum Bike Cranks

Boone Technologies, makers of the 1990s “Twist” cranks and other cycling components, have been making titanium singlespeed cogs and rings for a while now but they just announced their new aerodynamic Cranx! machined aluminum cranks. Here’s the product blip from Boone:

These are a new set of cranks that we’ve developed that are CNC machined out of billet aluminum. The unique curve of these cranks not only provides excellent aerodynamic drag reduction but also looks great on any bike. They are available in polished finish These cranks weigh in at 245 grams per arm and measure 175 mm (6.89 in) in length. The internal spline attachment we machined for these cranks is compatible with BB30 standard bottom brackets.

While these cranks aren’t as wild looking as the Twist cranks, they are a very unique design. The price? $495 direct from Boone Technologies

The Litespeed Pinhoti III Has Longer Travel, Bigger Tires, and More Clearance

Named after the Pinhoti Trail, which extends between Snake Creek Gap and Dug Gap within the Chattahoochee Forest into north Georgia, Litspeed’s newest iteration of their hardtail, the Pinhoti III, received some modern updates. Now optimized for a 130mm suspension fork, the Pinhoti III also fits a 29×2.6″ or a 27.5×3″ tire, thanks to an asymmetric dropped chainstay and a new CNC-machined titanium chainstay yoke.

The Geometry has been tweaked as well, with a slacker head angle, longer reach, and a few other tweaks. Litespeed offers various builds (XTR shown here at a retail of $6,699) and finishing kits, and with all these new updates, the size medium frame comes in at just 1,649 grams (size medium)—a savings of 95 grams over our previous version of the Pinhoti. As with all Litespeed bikes, these are made in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
