As I was backing up my photos from Interbike, I realized I never posted these. It’s a few photos I shot of Jason Clary’s new LOW track bike. He’s had the frame for a while but it’s good to see it built up. I’ve always liked the crazy custom paint and finishing schemes Andrew comes up with and this bike is no different.

Cross Vegas. One night during Interbike where the industry and UCI come together for a night of boozin’ and racin’. This year’s heats were bigger, faster and more beer’er than ever. How about less talk, more photos?

This year, Mission Workshop opted out of the expense of undertaking Interbike. Instead, they brought their new products with them to the show floor. For Fall / Winter 2012, they’re introducing two new jackets, the Trigger and the Torre. First off, the Trigger is MW’s take on the cycling centric, urban riding jacket. It’s a more dedicated cycling fit than the Orion but is still comfortable as a fashion piece off the bike. It’s Shoeller WB-400 fabric has 4-way stretch, is windproof and highly water resistant. The Trigger ships October 15th and will retail at $285.

Next up is the Torre, or the classic merino hoody. The material is a proprietary 18.9 micron New Zealand Merino Wool with added stretch to increase mobility and flexibility while riding. Thumb holes, added zips, vents and a rear pocket are a few details that make the Torre one of the most practical cycling hoodies. The Torre ships November 1st and will retail at $235.

This year, I had hopes of having three galleries from Interbike’s showcase but alas, two will have to do. Within this gallery, you’ll find everything from balleur track bikes to pretty faces and I even added subtitles to the photos to direct you to the corresponding companies. How’s that for luxury. One of my favorite booths at Interbike this year was Dario Pegoretti‘s. Every time I walked past it, people were swarming to see the hand made steel masterpieces from Italy, rendering it almost impossible to get a clear photo of any of the frames. Since he had the only booth with hand-made track bikes in it, I had to get up close and personal with them.

While describing what makes Pegoretti Cicli’s work different from American builders, I overheard the rep say something to the effect of this: “Dario is from a long line of Italian frame builders. People who found a way to mix production with perfection. None of these American builders are capable of producing the quality and quantity as Dario…”

Arrogant? Sure. But hey, they’re Italian and with these bikes, it’s hard to argue otherwise.

For 2013, Parlee introduces their new Z0 road model, the pinnacle of their US-made carbon fiber frames. While the standard road caliper model was stunning, their new Z0 disk road caught my eye. With its proprietary, Parlee-made, tapered carbon fiber disk fork, the Z0 has plenty of stiffness up front to counteract the disk stopping power. Seen here in an early prototype, the Z0 road will be available in 2013. See more photos below and I’ll post more details as events warrant.

Year after year, photographing Interbike goes from being an overwhelming and daunting task to me just knowing what people want to see. That and after I get over shooting in the horrible lighting, the yearly tradeshow’s bounty of Beautiful Bicycles just comes easy. This year, Cinelli packed a few punches, starting with the new single speed CX frame, designed by MASH. But the main surprise was the custom carbon Laser road. Wow.
