Kyler Martz: Necronomicog Nature is Metal Graphic

If you spend any amount of time outdoors, or in the ‘wood, then you know nature is pretty fuckin’ metal. When I began thinking of the next Necronomicog design, I mentioned an idea I had to artist Kyler Martz. We went back and forth a bit until his sent me this design.

Now, this is probably one of the best shirt designs I’ll ever sell. BUT I won’t be getting them printed until November. Until then, why don’t you tell me what you’d like? Pocket tee? Black? White? Sweatshirt? Front graphic?

My inclination is always pocket t, so let me know what you want to see and I’ll print them up in the next few weeks.

Thanks to Kyler for taking this design to the next level.

Dawn Painter Knows Campagnolo

… at least as far as I’m concerned. If you’re like me, then you’ve probably seen the work from the UK artist before. After a reader forwarded me Dawn Painter’s portfolio site, I spent a good amount of time poking around at the various illustrations. Naturally, the Campy jersey and bidon were my favorite but there’s too much good stuff in there to not share.

Do yourself a favor and check out Dawn Painter’s site!

Woof Jakarta: Damnson!

This one’s for all the Samson owners. Woof drew up this graphic in celebration of his killer Samson. They were always my favorite Keirin frames, alongside Kalavinka.

The New Yorker Celebrates Cycling

“Tour de Force,” by Bruce McCall, July 25, 2005

There’s been quite the buzz surrounding the New Yorker’s latest cover art by Bruce McCall for the featured story entitled “ExerCity”. Why is the New Yorker writing about cycling? Truth is, the New Yorker has featured cycling on their covers for some time. Take the above cover for example…

Cody Brothers Bobcats in Leadville Shirt

Leadville is happening as I’m typing this, with the race finishing in a few hours. Just because you weren’t there (or maybe you are), doesn’t mean you can’t pick up one of these Bobcats in Leadville shirts! Check out more information here and pick one up here. Personally, I think this would make a great bike shop poster too!

Rapha Rising 2013 Infographic

Rapha‘s Strava challenges are always a lot of fun. Ever look to see what the competitors are riding? Personally, I always enjoy clicking on the leader’s stats and seeing where they rode and what kind of elevation they can hit on their home turf. For the Rapha Rising 2013, people came out of the woodwork:

“30,841 riders worldwide took to the hills and mountain roads as part of the eight-day Rapha Rising Challenge. The challenge, in conjunction with Strava, was to climb the combined height of the Alpe d’Huez, Peyresourde, Ventoux and Col de Sarenne. A total of 7, 235m was the target but, of course, many went above and beyond that figure.”

The Dodelta

The Campagnolo C-Record Delta brake is one of the most beautiful components to ever grace the history of cycling. While some wrenches claim they’re shit, other, more pedigreed mechanics love their unique center pull braking mechanism. Which brings me to the Dodelta. Commentary on the brake, or the user? You decide…
