Juliana Bicycles: My Roubion Contest

Last week at Sea Otter, Juliana announced their new Roubion shred sled and now they want to give one away:

“The new Juliana Roubion is designed to handle anything an all mountain adventure may throw at you. Designed by the carbon fiber experts at Santa Cruz, the Roubion also sports 150mm travel, with all the pedaling benefits of the Virtual Pivot Point (VPP™) system. You could say it’s got all the brawn of the Bronson, in the spirit of Juliana. It’s certainly proven itself already as Anka Martin’s Trans-Provence winning race bike.

Offered in three sizes, the Roubion will make it’s way to the public in June, but is exclusively available now to the “Show Us Your Roubion” Contest Winner.”

Easton Cycling: Win This Hunter Cycles Dream Bike

I really, really, really love the work of Rick Hunter. In fact, if I didn’t have a plump stable already, I would get him to build me something. What? I don’t know but after seeing this Easton Cycling Dream Bike, something tells me it’d look fast!

The fifth installment of the Easton Cycling Dream Bike Charity Sweepstakes looks amazing and all proceeds go to the Red Cross. Check out more at the East Cycling Facebook

The #HideYourBikeInPlainSight Winner!

Kyle Abernathy and Team Dream Team

Man, talk about a tough contest to judge. There were over three hundred photos tagged with #HideYourBikeinPlainSight and while most of them were pretty straight forward, these two struck me as the most successful.

Kyle Abernathy’s photo was one of the only ones that took me a minute to process what was going on. Usually, I could see what people were doing in the thumbnails. They either completely covered their whole bike in foliage, or shot so wide that the bike kinda disappeared. While there were no rules, I felt that approach was too easy. This however was so simple that it worked and the whole bike frame was obscured. Natural camouflage.

Team Dream Team’s photo took an approach that a lot of people attempted: find a wall that’s the same color as your frame but adding the banana to the shot gave it depth, scale and a clever twist. Honestly, I like Team Dream Team’s photo the best out of the bunch (heh) but I really want to give the bar tape to a random person instead. Sorry Sean! Don’t worry, Sean will get something extra special in the mail…

Kyle, shoot me your address and thanks for playing everyone!
