Full Frame Collective: Cubby’s Birthday Hill Bomb
Bombing hills on any bike is fun. Even a BMX!
“For the fourth year in a row, we have successfully completed a Bolinas day trip for Cubby’s birthday. Every year he’s added more friends to the adventure, but the itinerary has stayed the same. Drive out from the city as early possible, get to the top of Mt. Tam, jump on the bikes to ride 6 miles down a twisty one lane back road (this time we bombed two hills, one into Alpine Dam the second into Bolinas). From there we ride the skate park in Bolinas for a few hours and then head to bass lake.”

Full Frame Collective: Yimmy!

I can just hear Yim whispering “fixie” looking at this photo. Such a great shot, Dylan. Full Frame Collective‘s always got the goods!

Full Frame Collective: Sandy Carson Interview
The guys at Full Frame Collective interviewed Austin-local photographer and BMX’r Sandy Carson. I’ve long been a fan of his work and his current projects are very interesting. Check out what he’s got to say over at Full Frame Collective.

Full Frame Collective: Spots on Spots
There are very few photographers who continue to shoot sports like BMX with a Hasselblad and the Full Frame Collective team is one of the best. Check out Cubby’s rail hop for example. Perfect timing! Check out more at Full Frame Collective.

When Full Frame Collective posts up a photo like this, it’s hard for me to resist the repost. I miss hanging in SF with those guys!

Full Frame Collective: Chas and Crihs on Douglass St.
Back when Chas had hair and Crihs wasn’t fat, they hit up Douglass St. with the Full Frame Collective and Werehaus guys. Terry got this shot of Chas, getting so pitted and it just makes me smile. For more entertainment, hit up the video from Douglass St. below.

Full Frame Collective: Bomb Hills
Since it’s FFC, I was expecting this to be a track bike video, so the BMXs were a surprise. It’s a whole different vibe when you’re not pedaling all the time, huh? Shot by Werehaus.

Full Fingerflip Collective
It’s Sunday. That means it’s dude day. At least that’s what I found out when I bumped into “those guys” in Full Frame Collective. I remember riding skateboards out to jib spots when I was in middle school but of all the places to ride in SF, these dudes just thrashed a 4″ curb for two hours. Long enough for me to get sunburnt and catch a few flicks.

Full Frame Collective: JSN and Me at the MASH 1-Year Alleycat
Look, I know this blog can be a tad narcissistic from time to time but as a “photographer”, I rarely find myself behind the glass. Or in this case, behind Zeiss glass. So when I see a rad photo of me and a homie, I have to give it some love. I had a fucking, absolute blast in SF last time and it was all because of a rad network of friends I’ve made over the years. Say what you will about the point and shoot 35mm camera craze that’s enveloped the young people in major cities throughout the US but Full Frame Collective has some of the most talented photographers running the show. Take Terry B for example. When he’s not shotgunning fruit juice at the hands of 18 year olds, he’s taking snaps with his ultra-wide Zeiss lens on his Contax SLR.
Check out more photos by Terry and Dylan from the Mash 1-Year Anniversay alleycat at FFC and long live grain.

SF’scapades
At this point, I had traveled from Australia, to NAHBS, to NYC and had maybe slept in my bed in Austin two nights in three weeks. So what did I do? I went on a bender, starting with Benders, the best bar in SF. Then the rest of three days I was in town just got melted into half of a Recent Roll.

Full Frame Collective: Personal Series – Crihs Thormann
Photos by Dylan Bigby
I know I’ve been cropping portrait-orientation photos here on the site but these two photos are too good to put on another page. Crihs was in SF this winter, escaping the NYC cold and having a blast riding the hills of the city. Full Frame Collective did a great Personal Series on him while he was there and it’s definitely worth your time to check it out. They also touch on why Crihs spells his name like that… Head to FFC for the scoop!

I really dig the Full Frame Collective contingency, especially with photos like this popping up on Terry’s Flickr. Kanin needs a Balhogs Grip Strip!

Full Frame Collective: Up Close and Personal with Chas
I love taking shots like this. They always provide much more information than a full body photo and on a track bike, you can feel the momentum. Dylan had some lens time with Chas (the winner of 2012 Monster Track), resulting in two great photos. Check the other one out at Full Frame Collective.
