Thomson Introduces US-Made Titanium MTB Frames

Well, technically they’re Thomson-designed, Lynskey-manufactured frames but it’s still rad if you ask me! The Elite 275 (clever name) is the first to the spotlight, followed by the Elite 29, a singlespeed 29r that comes with a Rohloff Option and a Thomson singlespeed drivetrain. Eventually, there will be the Elite Gravel road bike, which is, as you might have guessed, for off-road action.

Other developments include the new Thomson Pave Post, for road, cross and other drop-bar bikes that get some time in the dirt.

You will even be able to visit their facilities in Macon, Georgia and give them a test ride.

Check out more information at Thomson.

Dustin Klein of Cadence Painted this Ritchey Swiss Cross

To commemorate a forthcoming collaboration with Ritchey, Dustin Klein from Cadence took the time to personalize his new Swiss Cross frameset. I love seeing projects like this unfold, especially with companies like Cadence and Ritchey, both of which make exceptional products.

Personally, I think the Cadence x Ritchey stems look great and I can’t wait to see what else they’re cooking up!

Until then, check out the process and completed bike photos below!

Kawasaki green kinda grows on you over time, but for some reason, I doubt anyone would object to having one of the new Speedvagen Road Machines in their stable. Check out more madness at the Speedvagen Flickr, you’ll be green with… ok nevermind. Just go look at the rad photos.

Vanilla Bicycles: Shorty Road Frameset

As the story goes, Vanilla is left with this 49cm road frameset to sell. Now, I know a Vanilla is out of most people’s price range, but I can’t get over how nicely detailed they all are. The best part about bicycle photography is that there’s no charge to look!

Raleigh Bicycles: SSCXWC Philly Frameset

For this year’s SSCXWC, Raleigh designed a limited edition cross frameset, complete with the Tamland dropouts (which look damn fine). Wait, a SSCX bike with vertical dropouts? What’s going on here? Well, as per the details here on this high-tech PDF, Raleigh is actually encouraging you to chop your derailleur hanger into a bottle opener. Which, I might add, is fucking amazing.

The best part is the price: $670! Scoop one up at the SSCXWC Philly’s webstore!

Mash: Polished Histogram in Stock

The Cinelli Mash Histogram has been immensely popular over the years but it wasn’t until this year’s model that I’ve personally been stoked on it. Polished aluminum with a graphic overlay always looks amazing. These framesets are now in stock at MASH, so if you’re in need of a new track frame, go check them out!

Heavy Pedal: Zephyr Aluminum Low Pro Track Framesets

The guys at Heavy Pedal have creates something so strange and so weird that it just works! Introducing their Zephyr track frameset:

“We decided that we wanted to make a bike within the last year. At a time when everyone seems to be rushing to make the cheapest bike out of the cheapest materials for the wrong reasons— we decided to take a step back and do some research. What we gathered was our deep appreciation for NJS bikes, the Cannondale Track and also bike designers that were driven to stand out, like Landshark (none of which have any affiliation to us). So, when we decided that The Heavy Pedal would make a bike we took all three, great ideas into account. We introduce to you, Zephyr.”

Merckx Mondays

Reportage

Merckx Mondays

Molteni sausages were onto something when they sponsored a young bicycle racer by the name of Eddy Merckx in 1971. Not only were they to see a huge jump in sales from his many victories (someone give me a source!), but little did they know, their brand was to be embodied in one of the most iconic colors in cycling history.

While this frame in particular is not an original Molteni, it still looks mighty nice sitting atop this Kubota.

I have been dangerously low on Merckx Mondays content, so when I was over at Maison de Blanc over the weekend, I asked FYXO to shoot one of his many Merckx frames. “Which one?” he asked, to which I replied, the one that’ll look the best on your dad’s mower.

Granted, this is by no means the “nicest” Merckx frame in Andy’s man cave, it just looked so quant… See for yourself in the Gallery!

This, like everything in the world of FYXO, is for sale. Interested? Shoot him an email.
