If I Didn’t Already Have a Cross Bike Lined Up
I’d be on one of these. Milwaukee Bicycle Co‘s new Waterford-built cross bikes look damn nice. At that price, why would you consider a Taiwanese-manufactured frame? It’s like team pricing for the public!

Milwaukee Bicycle Co: OX Platinum Disk Cyclocross Pre-Order
Milwaukee’s OX Platinum cross frame is now up on their site for pre-order. These frames are made from US tubing in the USA by Waterford and are only $660. No one can complain at that price, which comes in around most Taiwanese tigged frames. And you can even customize the paint. Now that’s a steal for steel. Head to Milwaukee Bicycle Co for pre-ordering information. For those interested in a carbon fork, the Whisky Parts Co Number 7 fork will do the trick.

Ritte Racing: Steel SSCX
Yummy! This morning, while trying to knock back a few cold ones (that’s code for emails), I popped onto Facebook to see these three belt-drive beauties staring me down. I like Steel and I like cross bikes. Ritte’s ok too, I guess. Kidding aside, head to the Ritte FB to catch the entire set.

Velo Cult Touring Bike
The first images of these frames popped up at the first year of the San Diego Bike Expo. Not much was leaked at that point, other than Velo Cult was working on a made in the USA touring frame with an American builder. That builder is Mark Nobilette and since the San Diego Bike Expo, Velo Cult has cranked through dozens of custom orders for their customers. While I was doing my Shop Visit, Anthony let me photograph one of those recent orders.

Victoire Cycles: New Made in France Frames
We all have seen Victoire Cycles‘ exquisite hubs and last week, Julian emailed me a few teaser shots of their new made in France track frames along with this little blurb:
“This frame is built around a really special set of tubes, made in France. Each tube is triple butted and D-shaped. We only made 8 sets of tubes so this frame will be available in only 8 units.”
More to come on this… In the meantime, what’s going on with those Bishop hubs? They’re too nice!

Colossi: Stickey Fingers Track
This has all the ingredients to be one of two things: a track beast or a street weapon. The Colossi Sticky Fingers is a rather unique frame. 6061 tubing too! Check out more here.

Tracko Goes Metal with Moth Attack
Now something you might not know about Kyle is that below those Birkenstocks lies a doom-metal head, as evident here by his latest video for GSC and Moth Attack:
“I needed a travel bike but didn’t have the money for a custom frame. So Megan at Moth Attack just put S&S Couplers on my FBM Sword.”
Fucking Electric Wizard!

Kyle’s Got the Right (FBM) Idea
In fact, Kyle’s Sword has led me to pick one up and probably do the same thing. I wanted a beat-it-to-hell track bike to travel with and lock up at bars / wheelie / thrash around on but I didn’t want to go with a Taiwanese bike. I had completely forgotten about the FBM Sword (as has most of the world). Maybe it’s time for a little Sword resurgence? Made in the USA. Built by dudes who like to party and infused with dragon blood.
And of course Megan at Moth Attack is putting S&S on this beast.

Tokyo Fixed: Morten’s S2
I’ve always loved this shade of blue and Morten’s s2 build does it justice. Very clean. See more at Tokyo Fixed!

Adam and the Stanridge Tim Rugg Cross Frame
Adam from Stanridge Speed is most known for his Highstreet low pro track frames but his new passion lies in cyclocross bikes and this year, he’s got a special someone racing for him. Tim Rugg is an experienced road racer, at the PRO level but has yet to try his hand at ‘cross. Adam reached out to him, before his maiden season to see if he wanted to race a Stanridge Speed. Once he obliged, Adam got to work, fabricating this beaut. Since the bike wasn’t built up when I visited Adam, I simply asked him to hold the frame under a massive skylight in his warehouse.

Raleigh Bicycles: 2013 Macaframa Track Frame
When I was emailed this, my first thought was “genius”. If you’ve ever been to SF and seen aluminum trackbikes, you know the initial livery is not what people tend to display. Instead, stickers, paint markers and other things cover frames, from chainstay to top tube. So why even have a paint design? Maybe that’s what Raleigh was going for with the new Macaframa track frameset? Either way, I dig this. Expect more once the 2013 line launches.

Stanridge Speed: CX Race Rig
Coming up with creative paint schemes in the internet age is not easy, so when I see something like this pop up on Flickr, I take note, especially when it’s from Stanridge Speed. Adam’s newest frame out of the paint booth is a CX Race Rig, complete with a very simple, yet flashy wet coat. Check out more of this beauty at the Stanridge Flickr.
