Support made in the USA FGFS products and check out Destroy‘s new pre-sale on their Masochist framesets and 4.666″ bars. I love the colors, especially the antifreeze green and the blue. Way to go guys. That pricepoint is right where it needs to be. Pick them up here.

Rec Fail: Steven Jensen at Deck Park
Matt’s the king of the multiburst sequences but I like the lifestyle shots more, especially ones like this. That new SKYLMT is looking damn nice. Check out the rest at Rec Fail.

Spike: New Vault Micro Drive Hub
How long has it taken companies now to pull off a legit micro drive hub? Too long! Spike has just announced its Vault hub and it doesn’t require you smearing loctite on bolts. Also, check out their new two piece High bars and the new Breakbrake 17 Charmer 26″ proto.

Wolf Drawn: Congo Table
Matt just posted up this photo of Congo throwing down at the Long Beach skatepark over at Wolf Drawn. I love how much table tops have improved in FGFS over the years. I guess, wheels get smaller = bike is easier to throw around. Nice shot Matt!

Jonah Kessle for Sadio
I just spent a weekend in the wilderness, via bike and all I can do is watch this video. Matt Reyes doing his magic on Jonah Kessle for Sadio. So much goodness in here and he’s wearing a helmet. This kid’s a real Ripper.

Locked Cog: Tommyknockers
Being pumped on FGFS comes in waves for me and I’m sure it’s the same for a lot of people. Some weeks, you just don’t feel like riding your bike. Seeing Kris from Locked Cog stoked on his bike and being creative is enough motivation to get anyone out on theirs. Digging the footjam tireslide and the feeble pop up!

Wolf Drawn: Farewell Volume Edit
Matt‘s saying bye to Volume to pursue other opportunities and as a thank you, he put up a rather slick edit. Spine tire slide, ledge roll, t-bog, one-handed table and whip skid drop looked balleur. Along with just general, fast riding. I think FGFS needs to not have rules and just be fast and fun. This shit looks good. If and when Matt Spencer goes to 26″, It’ll be just as fun to watch though. Style is style, regardless of wheel size.

Learning Curves
I mentioned yesterday that Cody Nutter gave me a little tutorial on color-correction recently. In 5 minutes, I began the process of learning curves. In the past, I’ve messed around with color curves but looking back at some of the photos, I cringe. They’re either too blue or too red and ultimately, they just look like a photo lab mixed the wrong chemicals when processing film. Andy from Fyxomatosis gave me the best advice anyone could give: the photo should look like it was taken with your eyes. With digital photography at an all-time high and apps like Instagram going viral, people love the nostalgia associated with a high-contrast, cross-processed image. But I’m not sure that’s where I want to go with my photos. Sure, this isn’t a rule but it’s a direction I want to stay clear of.
Back to the learning curves. The photo on the right is the original photo I posted of Matt Spencer during the LBC in ATX trip. The photo on the left is after balancing out the blacks and whites. Quite a difference huh?

Torey for Breakbrake 17
Torey got a lil loose while he was in SF. I’ve heard buzzings of what went down but this is the first “media” to drop from his trip. Matt Reyes with the shot, Breakbrake 17 with the product.

iMinus D: Grime Bikes – Pop Up Pop Off 01
You know what’s good. iMinus D, Grime and pop-up jams in San Jose!
“iMiNUSD and Grime held a no-notice pop-up jam in a Downtown San Jose bum park. The Don’t Nark In The Park Jam features riding from Ed Wonka, Gabe Alcantara, Alex Blanco, Matt Montoya, Christian Hamrick, Jeff Dempler, and Mike Schmitt. For a mellow BBQ day some pretty technical tricks went down. I almost can’t even tell some of the switch tricks apart from the natural ones. The scene out here is so next level, there must be something in that San Jose water that the government isn’t telling us about.”
Killer use of the Cannibal Holocaust soundtrack.

Rec Fail: Jonathan Davis & His Showtime
Jonathan Davis is one of my favorite FGFS riders to watch shred and when you put him in front of someone’s lens like Matt Lingo, you know the outcome is going to be good. Over at Rec Fail, Matt just upped a grip of shots but I love this one-footed table the best. Check out the rest at Rec Fail.

Deal With It SF: Snow’s Tire Feeble
Snow has been commenting here on the blog for well over a full year now. Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed photos of him riding on Matt’s Flickr and have been stoked on his 29’r pegless steez. I totally blanked on posting his pedal feeble last month but this tire feeble / edger is sick. Those are hands down my favorite trick on a fixed freestyle, especially when you can fly off the edge of a ledge. Keep at it dude!

CSK: Spencer
By now, you should know what CSK is and even if you haven’t bought stickers from them (which you should do), you can appreciate their riding. Here’s Matt Spencer‘s new video, filled with full cabs, nollie x-ups, switch 180s and general street tech. If I woulda known this was gonna drop, I would have held off on putting up the LBC in ATX re-up!
