With the world of ‘cross bikes taken almost completely over by 44mm head tubes, oversized tubing and thru-axles, it’s nice seeing a 1 1/8″ steel fork, 135mm option out there, made from Columbus Zona. Factory Five’s new ‘cross frames are looking good and they only cost $525 USD for a frameset. They’ve got a few sizes in stock now, so head over to check them out.

Factory Five’s Titan: A 31.8 Quill Stem
Ever want to run a 31.8 clamp bar on your traditional 1″ threaded frame? Well, the guys at Factory Five do all the time but they didn’t stop there. By adding a removable, two-bolt faceplate, they made switching bars a cinch. Now if you’re running this stem on your track bike, you can swap between drops and flats or riser bars without unwrapping your tape or removing your grips.
Designed, made and tested in China, forged from 7075 aluminium, these unique and useful stems come in a 90mm length at the moment, with more lengths on the horizon. The Titan Stem is shipping TODAY so order now at Factory Five!
Now I wonder what this will do for all the classic road builds out there?

Get out This Weekend!
I still have so much leftover film from China, with some of my favorites being the roll of 220 I shot in the bamboo forest on the Mamiya. The guys from Factory 5 rode up to the top of this mountain range on their track bikes and I was on my cross bike, getting shots along the way.

Factory Five: Tyler’s Digital Camo F550s Track
Yikes! Tyler from Factory Five is one of the raddest dudes I’ve met over the past few years, so I can just imagine him smashing around Shanghai on this thing. As a drummer of a hardcore band, he’s no stranger to camo (shorts), so it just seemed like a natural move to paint his new Factory Five F550s track with the digital pattern. Check out more at the Factory Five Flickr and see the build specs below.
