Bombtrack’s New Hook ADV All-Road with 40mm of Front Suspension

The bike industry moves in cycles, what’s old is oftentimes presented as new. These throwbacks are maddening for old timers, but can be exciting for newer cyclists. It wasn’t long ago that Tomac made waves in mountain bike races with his unique style: drop bars on an mountain bike. Over the past few years, we’ve seen a number of drop bar bikes with front suspension forks and now, it’s Bombtrack’s turn to throw their cap in the ring. The Hook ADV utilizes 40mm of front suspension from MRP, paired with a dropper post from KS to liven up your dirt road or singletrack rides.

The Hook ADV will land between end of September and end of October 2018. Contact your local Bombtrack dealer or distributor for more information and see more photos below.

Bombtrack’s Hook EXT-C is a Carbon Beast!

I found myself the other day, about to defend a comment on Instagram about “why would anyone want to ride a 27.5″ cross bike?” but I realized something; you can’t explain to people how and why these bikes are so fun. You’ll just have to wait for them to try one out for themselves. The problem is, it’s hard to roll a 2.1″ tire on most production bikes unless they were specifically designed for it. Right now, there is maybe a handful of those bikes rolling around and a lot more custom steel bikes. So every time I see a production bike, especially one made from carbon, I have to share it. Which is why I welcome the Bombtrack Hook EXT-C to a singletrack near you…

Head to Bombtrack to see all the details.

The Highland Trail 550

The Highland Trail is self-supported, long-distance cycling route of approximately 550 miles in length, through the Scottish Highlands. This event is free, with absolutely no support and no winners, yet some riders take it upon themselves to set their own ITT. Joachim rode the Highland Trail 550 on a Bombtrack Hook EXT C. Urban Fly Fishing in Berlin

We’ve all seen photos of people fly fishing on bikepacking trips, in the middle of nowhere, but what about using a bike to transport you to the middle of somewhere to fish?

Torino to Nice! RALLY RALLY RALLY! The Important Thing is All that Sun

Unless you’re John and crew down in Southern California you might be feeling the detrimental effects of S.A.D. You’ve got the full-spectrum bulbs installed, you’re taking Vitamin D, and when the sun briefly pokes its head out from behind a grey wall of clouds you stare at it with the earnest intention of an indoctrinated Breatharian. Or maybe I am only speaking for those of us in the Pacific NW? But you know what, that’s where I live, and that’s the only experience that I know so let’s just allow a bit of regional solipsism shall we? Does that hodge podge of conflated ideas even make sense? Does it matter?

The point is that I think locally, maybe nationally, we’re all looking for some sunshine. Some happy moments. Some bliss. And if you are in the subset of athlete>cyclists>dirt-cyclists>distance-dirt-cyclist>distance-dirt-cyclist-adventurer then I believe you’ll enjoy this video. But it’s only my belief, which really just boils down to an opinion, so I accept that I could be wrong and I am ok with it.

Bombtrack at the Tuscany Trail

This looks like a beast of a trip!

“Clement Stawicki (France) and Joachim Rosenlund (Norway) competing the world’s biggest bikepacking race – the “Tuscany Trail” (Italy). An unsupported bike adventure race of 560km distance, 11.000m of elevation and 530 competing starters. Clem and Joachim both achieved a great 15th out of all riders – but somehow it seems it’s far more about the experience than the actual result.”
