While this might not be for everyone, there are plenty of people who love these bluetooth external speakers, plus, 20% of the money raised goes to the Messenger relief fund. Support the Boombot REX at their Indiegogo page.
Nice one from TCB Courier in support of their new kit pre-order!
“When we’re not busy on the streets, you can find the riders of TCB keeping it real and always looking it fresh in SF. Support us in raising money for a new cargo bike by picking up a TCB kit, so we can bring more food to you faster! The kit, produced by Endo Customs, is available now in our web store at tcbcourier.bigcartel.com. Pre-order ends June 30th!”
Everyone’s NYC tale is worth sharing in my opinion and some take the extra effort to illustrate their journey. Take Sally Carson for example. The debut issue of The Skids is Sally’s auto-biographical tale about her days as a New York City bicycle messenger in the days after 9/11.
Check it out here.
Nice find Tracko!

With Wolfpack Hustle’s second installment of the 2013 Unified Title Race Series, The CVCCTR Crit looming in the near future, they’ve decided to turn up the heat a bit with a Competitor Spotlight series. The most recent being Austin Horse. With a name like “Horse”, he’s gotta be a beast on the bike right? Of course he is but he’s much more than that.
Head over to Wolfpack for the scoop on the Horse.
Bern has a new web series called “Sessions” out, focusing on one of my favorite people in NYC, Squid:
“Kevin “Squid’ Bolger, has been an NYC messenger for 20 years. He has been wearing Bern helmets for 9 years. A icon in the streets of NYC, he has seen the city and biking there change a ton. Squid was a pioneer helping to organize early alley cat races in NYC and pushing track bike racing with his velocity tour. Through earning his spot within urban bike culture he has used his fame and reach to help make cycling more safe and accessible to more people.
He has served as a Bicycle Ambassador for Transportation Alternatives and helped to educate working cyclists on how to ride safely. To us, Squid is family and a key member of our team. He was the first cyclist that backed our product and helped us push our image throughout the world. We are proud to present a window into Squid’s history, his life and his thoughts on cycling, helmets and NYC. For more info about Squid, check Cycle Hawk.”
After much demand, TCB Courier has opened up a pre-order for their Endo Customs kits. Head over to scoop one up today! The pre-order ends June 30th…

As previously-stated, yesterday I rode with Chas in Golden Gate Park. Which if I lived in SF, would be a daily staple in my riding routine. There’s something completely ironic about a camo cycling kit but it works exceptionally well on the new Endo Customs-made TCB Courier kits and yes, they look completely rad in person too.

Today, the Urban Cycling Hall Of Fame (UCHOF) was launched in conjunction with Echos CommunicationsChrome Industries. The purpose of the UCHOF is to spotlight the rich culture and history of urban riding. How is the UCHOF planning on doing so?

Maybe it’s the #lightbro, or maybe it’s the subject matter but John can capture some great moments on the streets of SF. Follow his Flickr for more.
Yes! Remember, never read the comments on a Boda Boda NYC video…
Remember Triple Rush? I sure do and while it wasn’t the longest-lived show, it made me miss NYC. Now you can watch every episode online, for free!
See the full episode list at the Travel Channel.

Ugalde’s artwork is always so insane!

As long as Damian keeps photographing this work horse, I’ll keep posting it. Even if this Casati is in need of a quick seat stay repair.
If I had to guess off the top of my head, which model bike has been featured the most on the site, it’d have to be the All City Nature Boy. Whether racing it singlespeed cross, or commuting or messengering on it, the Nature Boy is the people’s choice and when I saw Rob’s, I had to give it some lens love. Lots of street grime, character, stickers and yes, a top tube pad, make this one of the more unique builds I’ve seen. Technically, this isn’t a singlespeed though. Rob got a bit crafty with his setup. Look closely…
Usually, when I shoot a portrait of a rider and their bike, it goes at the end of a post but I really liked how these photos of Rob came out so he’s getting two galleries. Rob is quite the character. He came into Pearl Velo the day after NAHBS while I was working, snot dripping from his nose, bag all crusty and his bike was filthy. I couldn’t help but pull of the Mamiya 7ii and fire off a few shots. Rob helps throw a lot of the alleycats in the Denver area and has put in some serious saddle time on his Nature Boy. A full bike check is coming but for now, let’s admire this red-bearded brethren. Ladies, don’t get too hot and bothered, he’s taken!

Around the time that I was shopping for my M7, Brenton was looking at the Leica R6.2 SLR. Those cameras are bomb-proof work horses and Brenton’s recent exposures are doing it justice. He posted this up on his Tumblr last night and I had to share. It’s like some modern day rendition of some hardened stage racer smoking on a mountain pass.
Digging the TCB Rack as well!

I woke up a bit late this morning and opened Flickr to find this beaut staring me down. You can’t beat the colors in Provia 100F, especially in the Portland sunlight. Loving the film burn here and that machine!
