Bicycling Magazine’s 2018 Calendar
I loved working with Bicycling Magazine on their calendar last year, so I was really stoked to see Jeff Curtes taking part in this year’s selection. You can swoop up one now, at Bicycling!

I Photographed the 2017 Bicycling Magazine Calendar
Admittedly, when Bicycling Magazine reached out to me to be their 2017 calendar photographer, I was nervous. As someone who shoots thousands of photos a month to populate the pages of this website, along with the social media channels, I can’t even begin to posses the power of editing down 13 photos for something like a print calendar. For Bicycling Magazine nonetheless. Luckily for me, Jesse, the Design Director at the magazine, had already waded through the photographic archives that is the Radavist and narrowed down a selection. Fast forward a few months and viola! The calendar is done, in my possession and I have to say, it was fun going through all the memories associated with the photos. From Minneapolis, to Austin, Portland and Los Angeles, there’s something for everyone.

Brian Vernor’s Photo of Ultra Romance is in a Cover Battle
This is without a doubt the most interesting magazine cover I saw in 2015 and over at Adweek, there’s a battle going down. Vote for Brian Vernor‘s photo of Benedict at Adweek and let’s show them that bicycles are rad!

Bicycling Magazine Has Been Paying Attention
First, came a re-brand by House Industries, then came this cover. A photo shot by Brian Vernor of our favorite man-crush Ultra Romance laying down a siqqqq skid on a dusty corner in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Someone at Bicycling has been paying attention… Stoked over suffering, Instagram over grams. The industry needs more of this.

Bicycling Magazine: Makers’ Marks by Jeremy Dunn and John Watson
You probably remember this post from last year’s NAHBS. I called it Head Shots and Head Tubes. It still, to this day, gets constant traffic and while I’m very happy with the execution, what the post lacked was a story, or a background to the faces and crown races you’re looking at.
That’s where Jeremy Dunn and Bicycling Magazine come into play. With the aid of Jeremy, we made the Head Shots and Head Tubes post a story, fit for Bicycling Magazine and their iPad App. They dubbed it Makers’ Marks (clever!)…
