AJ sent me this earlier in the week and to my surprise it wasn’t the usual conspiracy theorist video or hollow Earth evidence. Filmed in just 6 weeks, Summer Sessions captures the essence of riding street and park in Austin, Texas and the surrounding cities. Really into this, Danny!
I just got back from a ride to find this amazing gem in my inbox. So stoked on AJ’s riding. Crank arm slides, bump jumps, tire feeble to 180 and it’s all dialed. We gotta ride when I get back from Vegas homie!
Yesterday was the quintessential Texas Saturday. We rolled out of the house mid-day after the temperature was in the upper 90’s and headed to 5 Hip. Tony Fast is in town to escape Santa Barbara and ride a bit. Puckett was blasting the new quarter with an inverted table and AJ was working on a flyout bar. Once the afternoon heat and haze crippled us, we headed to a secluded swimming hole.
On the descent down into the Greenbelt, Eric flew over the bars on his brakeless BMX and wrecked himself but it was nothing the cool water couldn’t heal.

AJ and I are probably the only two people who have the 29’r Bruiser prototypes set up as legit fixed freestyle rides. Others are floating around but are currently being ridden as rigid MTBs and gravel grinders. This bike has seen a beating since AJ built it up last year, around this time. While the future of the Bruiser is unknown, I can attest to the fact that this bike is a lot of fun and more than capable at thrashing some street. AJ’s put in work on this beast and it shows.

Sometimes, I head out with ambitions of pulling together A Day in 10 Photos post and well, it just doesn’t happen. At any rate, here’s a few photos from AJ and my FGFS session yesterday. See more below.
Danny Garcia caught AJ in one of his “prime” moments. Filmed for Milwaukee Bicycle Co, this video has nothing to do with anything and somehow, it works. Let’s ride this week dude!
AJ shows that no matter how long it’s been since you’ve been on a FGFS bike, you can still have fun and be a bit creative too. Check out the lawnmowers! Milwaukee and Burro repping.
