I humbly submit my Rivendell Joe Appaloosa shot on Riv-kosher 35mm with a Canon AE-1.
The Appaloosa is a mindblowing bike, I love it for just cruising around in comfort but it’s also remarkably capable of clattering through rock gardens on singletrack. It’s not going to set any records but it’s certainly not going to be stopped either. The super-long wheelbase can make some tighter stuff a bit of a challenge but it’s still a lot of fun.
There aren’t any Rivendell dealers in Ireland so I bought this through La Chouette in Paris, and I’m sure you’ll agree they did a great job on the build. I had the brakes and SON hub already but they helped me piece together the rest of the parts and finishing kit. Look at the job they did on the grips. C’est magnifique! It’s a good mix of practical and bling parts I think.
I think my favorite part of the bike is the fork crown. I love looking down at it while tootling along.
