Rivendell Platypus Pre-Order is Live at Noon PST Today
The Platypus, Rivendell’s flagship step-thru allrounder, is going up for sale tomorrow at noon. If you’re thinking about picking one up, Riv encourages everybody to dig deep and get a complete build because after crunching the numbers, there really aren’t many frames coming, especially in the 55cm size. In fact, Rivendell is only putting up 24 framesets, but on the flip side, there are lots of completes.
Today’s pre-order is in anticipation of Rivendell getting them sometime in the last ten days of November, and they’ll ship them out pronto!
As a nice nod to the future of the platypus, Rivendell added $25 dollars to the price of the completes and all of that will go to the Australian Platypus Conservancy.
James made a quick video showing the frames if you’re curious!
Rivendell only has two pictures of the pre-assembled completes coming from Taiwan. Above you can see the Ana Purple and Sergio Green colors.
Check out more at Rivendell.
Lauf Cycling’s Úthald Road Bike
While carbon road bikes might seem out of place here. We dig it when companies think outside the box. The Lauf Cycling Úthald caught our eye when it was announced yesterday thanks to its wild silhouette–that seat tube angle looks divine!–its generous tire clearance, up to 35mm, short chainstays, and frame compliance. While the frames are wireless shifting-only, they are 2x drivetrain compatible.
The Úthald has some panache. Check out more at Lauf.
