Flock Light Is On Kickstarter

A new rear light is hitting Kickstarter today, dubbed the Flock Light. Its intent is to increase visibility of cyclists by washing light across the rear of riders, making them 5.5x more visible to drivers. There’s a lot going on with this new light and they’ve done such a great job highlighting its features over at the Kickstarter page.

Pelago Teases Its New Thórsmörk Hardtail/Rigid 27.5+ / 29er

Thórsmörk, meaning Thor’s forest, is a mountain ridge in Iceland named after the Norse god Thor. Longing to go further, through rougher terrains unreachable with a commuter bike, this mighty bike is ready to go to the back of beyond and to trash some forest trails. I.e. the perfect inspiration for a rigid/hardtail mountain bike! Yet, the Thórsmörk isn’t just a standard hardtail.

Thórsmörk’s versatile and rigid chromoly frame is based on a modern trail bike geometry. It offers tire clearance up to 29 x 2.6” and 27.5 x 3.0” options. The dropper post-ready frame with a 44 mm head tube enables plenty of different setups. Gear it up with a suspension fork to have fun at the local trails and single tracks. Yet, the frame has big-enough mid triangle space and plenty of mounting options. With a rigid fork this trail-shredding machine is easy to turn into a full-on bikepacking rig due its gear-carrying capacity. The full-fender option adds to the versatility of the bike.

Fairlight: A Conversation with James Hayden

Our friends at Fairlight sent over a video and a few photos featuring their team rider James Hayden‘s Silk Road Race setup.

This year we re-signed ultra-endurance racer James Hayden to ride for Fairlight. He previously won the Tran Continental Race twice riding a Strael. He then got picked up by Canyon for a couple of years but is now back riding a Fairlight and is mainly focused on off-road events.

Right now, he is racing the Silk Road Mountain race and is currently sat in 3rd place and going well. It looks like it will be a close battle between the top 3, including Tour Divide winner Sofian Sehili.

A fortnight ago our in-house photo/vid guy [and customer service!] Lloyd J Wright flew out to the Pyrenees to catch up with James. Based around an interview/conversation and the amazing landscape where James lives and trains, he has put together a really beautiful film.
