Bikepacking Africa
This is Episode 2 of 8 featuring McKenzie Barney and James Beatty’s ride through Sudan. Sudan was by far the most remote portion of their cycling voyage down Africa. The desert heat was harsh and unforgiving often upwards of 110° F, but the roadside “cafeterias” offered much-needed shade, tea, and sometimes even a cot to sleep on. As we neared Khartoum, Sudan’s capital, we suddenly lost phone signal and had no communication to the outside world…
