White Industries Acquires Rolf Prima and Astral Cycling

What a way to start off the New Year. White Industries acquired Rolf Prima and Astral Cycling this year. Here’s the press release:

“On January 1st, 2023 after nearly two decades of close collaboration and partnership, White Industries of Petaluma, California purchased “sister” wheel brands Rolf Prima and Astral Cycling of Eugene, Oregon. Alec White and Doug White, owners of White Industries, will take full ownership of both Oregon wheel brands as former owner Brian Roddy moves on to new ventures.

Founded in 1978 by Doug White in his garage in Marin County, California, White Industries is best known for their precision-made hubs, bottom brackets, freewheels, headsets, and cranksets are designed and machined at their shop in Petaluma, California. Daily operations of the company are now run by his son, Alec White.

Alec will oversee all three brands, while Jimmy Krigbaum, the Oregon brands’ General Manager, will continue to lead the Rolf Prima/Astral Cycling team in Oregon.”

The W Forum is a Forum For Women in Cycling

“As a woman in the sports industry for around 15 years now, I’ve had all kinds of adventures, some bumpier, some easier, but all those adventures and paths I took were a learning experience. Today I stand on moving forward as best as I can by helping others also move forward and archive challenges, adventures or just being motivated and happy daily.

After a few months of thinking and realizing how less there is still for women to read about sports, check tips, share adventures and inspirational stories, talk proudly about periods, nutrition, first days in cycling or other sports… and probably this is just the beginning. There is still a lot to be done on the industry, but i am looking forward to sharing this with you all I am very proud to kick off The W Forum finally!!
