Custom 16 and 18mm pistons provide 20% more power than the stock caliper and the piston motion has been tuned to compensate for the larger fluid volume so that your levers feel good. Gunmetal finished over-sized hardware holds the caliper halves together and keeps your bike looking fresh while creating the caliper stiff enough to provide superb power, modulation, and control. We have found that on long and steep descents, this caliper offers better heat management and fade resistance than the stock caliper.

Robert Owens Historical Sign to be Unveiled in El Prieto Canyon, Los Angeles
In celebration of Juneteenth, Lowelifes Respectable Citizens Club volunteers will unveil the new Robert Owens historical sign in El Prieto Canyon on Monday, June 19th. This educational sign will shed light on the largely unknown story of Robert Owens, a former enslaved person who became Los Angeles County’s wealthiest African American during the 19th century.
At 9am on June 19th, participants will be guided to hike ~1 mile from the JPL Riparian Zone Parking Area to the lower entrance of El Prieto Trail. A 30-minute presentation on Robert Owens’ story and the history of the sign project will begin on-site at 9:30am.
Participants are recommended to wear sturdy shoes and carry a water bottle. The El Prieto Canyon area is not easily accessible to those with limited mobility.
According to Erik Hillard, Lowelifes Respectable Citizens Club: “Unveiling the Robert Owens sign creates a permanent reminder of the hidden history within El Prieto Canyon. A new era acknowledges early African American settlers in our forest.” According to Veronica Jones, Altadena Historical Society: “Acknowledging the history of El Prieto Canyon helps our community to be stronger and brings us closer. We experience and learn about the history that guides us each day. ”

Pinarello Dogma XC
Pinarello are re-entering the MTB market with an all new Dogma XC. As part of the Italian brand’s renewed focus on MTB, Pinarello began developing the new Dogma XC in autumn 2022 and underwent an intense period of testing with Ferrand-Prévot, Tom Pidcock and the INEOS Grenadiers’ technical team. The result is a bike which performs to the highest level, supporting both riders when they’re out there racing and putting in their best performances during UCI Cross-country World Cups, UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, and ultimately whilst working towards the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The Dogma XC will be available commercially in March 2024 and there is a second, front suspension frame also being developed to meet the demands of other World Cup circuits.
Forbidden Druid
Back in 2018, a mysterious Instagram account appeared teasing a nameless high-pivot bike that was uncommonly trail-oriented, undeniably clean-looking, and very very carbon. That turned out to be the first Druid, a 130mm rear-travel, 150mm front-travel, linkage-driven high-single-pivot all-mountain bike. This week, a new Druid dropped, whose suspension can best be described as an upside-down Horst Link. Travel numbers are just the same, but they also lie just the sme. High-pivot bikes tend to punch far above their weight thanks to the rear wheel’s ability to arch rearward as the suspension compresses, in the natural direction of impact forces. That also lengthens the wheelbase in hard hits improving stability and optimizing weight distribution. The new Druid gets a slightly straighter leverage curve through its early and mid-stroke and more ramp-up in the late stroke, if we may be so nerdy. Basically, more focus on slightly deeper small-bump suppleness and more aggressive bottom-out resistance. It retains Forbidden’s signature big leaps in chainstay lengths through its size range, from 423 in the S1 (formerly “small) to 466 on the S4 (formerly XL). The new Druid has an 18-tooth idler pulley, up from 16 on the previous generation, which ought to make for some smoother rolling. It’s got room for a full-sized water bottle on all sizes, a second set of bolts for cargo or accessories, a small in-frame storage compartment, and no headset cable routing, thank the lesser gods.
