Radar Roundup: Bombtrack Beyond Sus, Chris King Hub Tool Caddy, Blue Lug Hub Hoodie, MKS Monarch, Pedal Durango, The Woods at Brother In The Wild 2022, and Conduits For Joy

Our Radar Roundup compiles products and videos from the ‘net in an easy-to-digest format. Read on below for today’s findings…

Bombtrack’s New Beyond Sus $2,789

Thanks to the RockShox Rudy suspension fork, no surface will shake, rattle, or roll you while riding the Beyond SUS. The frame features top tube mounts and triple cage mounts on the downtube and even underneath, so you can fit your cargo in your desired configuration. The Sram Apex 1×11 groupset provides power thanks to a generous 11 – 42T cassette. Tubeless-ready WTB ST i23 rims with WTB Venture Light tires roll fast and smooth, while Bombtrack Tau 12mm through-axle hubs mean you will tackle trail-side repairs in a flash.

Check out this new steed at Bombtrack.

Chris King Hub Tool Caddy $145

If you’re a shop and you service a lot of King hubs, I doubt your tools look this nice still. That’s probably because you didn’t have a nice tool caddy for them. This Tool Caddy will keep your Universal Hub Service Tool right where you need it – properly organized and within reach. Machined locally in Portland, Oregon, it’s made from Acacia butcher block and a treated with a coat of Odie’s oil to keep it ready for a lifetime of service.

Blue Lug “Hub” Hoodies $46.20

The Hub s a barber shop that Blue Lug patronizes, located just a minute’s walk from their Hatagaya store. This hoodie features the Hub’s logo, designed by a local Japanese artist named Oki. A circular graphic that spells out “Cut, shave, sauna, mizuburo (cold bath)”, which are things that Nagaoka-san, the owner of Hub loves and what he thinks feels great.

We love seeing bike shops collaborate with their favorite local businesses. See more at Blue Lug’s Global Store.

Rivendell MKS Monarch Wings $15

One of the main critiques of the MKS Monarch pedals is that they’re not wide enough for many rider’s feet. Well, luckily for us big-footed friends, Grant from Riv had the same issue, prompting him to 3D prototype these “Wings” for the Monarch pedals. He rode the plastic protos until they broke and then made them in aluminum. The Wings come in silver or black and bolt right into your Monarch pedals. Neat! Roll on over to Riv to see more!

Pedal Durango Launches

If you are planning a San Juan romp this summer and need a true “Local’s” guide to the city of Durango, then look no further. Pedal Durango showcases shops, products, rides, and more, all served by this beautiful mountain town. Roll on over to Pedal Durango for more!

The Woods at Brother In The Wild 2022

James and Sam filmed a day at the ‘Brother In The Wild’ (Brother cycles’s Purbeck – Dorset event) on an old VHS camera, a relic from the days of filming skate videos. They rode the ‘Woods WTF’ route, one the team at Brother Cycles created for the event, which has developed over the years to be, what they consider the best of Purbeck riding, 55 miles, mostly offroad, swim spots, pub stops, rough single track, steep climbs and beautiful views.

Conduits For Joy – A Film About Creating, Featuring Stayer Cycles

Conduits for Joy is the first short film produced by Play Outdoors Productions, shot and directed by Roxanna Barry (they/she).

This story follows Play Outdoors Productions founder Ali (they/them) and bike frame builder Sam (he/him) – from woman-owned Stayer Cycles – as they both explore what it means to make conduits for joy.

With Ali making bassoon reeds and Sam inviting us into his practice creating steel bicycle frames, Conduits For Joy is a study in making things by hand.

Originally starting as an exploration of creativity, we have loved watching this project develop to have a focus on joy; how we use our creativity to make things that bring us joy and allow us to share joy with others.
