American Classic MTB Tire Collection
American Classic just announced its re-entrance into mountain biking with a collection of enduro, trail, and downcountry tires. With four different tread patterns and three different construction technologies, the all-new American Classic mountain bike range offers a variety of options for performance-minded riders.
Each of the three construction designs is optimized for the intended usage. The Mauka downcountry tire uses Stage TR-L Armor, which is a lighter-weight version of the TR (trail) construction, and is intended for aggressive cross-country riding. Stage TR-L Armor is a 1.5-ply 60 TPI casing topped with American Classic’s Rubberforce G compound. The Stage EN Armor (enduro) and Stage TR Armor (trail) constructions are available on the three tires intended for more aggressive riding – Vulcanite, Tectonite, and Basanite.
Each model is offered in both 27.5” and 29” diameters (except Mauka) and retail pricing ranges from $45-50 each. See more at American Classic’s webstore.
Alpacka Raft Sheri Documentary
Sheri Tingey defied the odds by starting a company at age 50 that has revolutionized the outdoor industry.
The film is a story about the hurdles Sheri overcame to launch the company, the ways she hid from view so that people would judge her products, and her role in creating them. It’s the story of her son, Thor Tingey, who has built the company alongside his mother, but has only recently begun to fully grasp what she has created not just for him, but for adventurers who’ve used the boats to access remote and wild rivers around the world. Sheri’s story will warm audiences and ask them to grapple with important questions about who belongs.
This film was created to honor Sheri and celebrate Alpacka Raft’s 20th Anniversary. The world premiere of “Sheri” was at Mountainfilm 2022. This film has also been accepted into additional film festivals around the world, Alpacka will announce those as dates get closer but here’s what’s on the schedule so far:
