Radar Roundup: Aldr Works, New Outer Shell Handlebar Bag, Acid Contrast 44RN, Troy Lee Designs, Argyll & The Isles, and Brooke Anderson x Esperanto

Our Radar Roundup compiles products and videos from the ‘net in an easy-to-digest format. Read on below for today’s findings…

Aldr Works Maar Bags $70

Aldr Works is a one to two person project currently located in Bellingham Washington, USA. They make a handlebar bag called the Terrestre and stem caddy bags (pictured) called the Maar. These bags are made with vintage duck camo and are designed to fit up to a 32oz Nalgene bottle. The bag features a Fidlock magnetic buckle on the exterior to hold quick access items like your phone, small tool, or snacks. The Fidlock magnetic buckle is designed for single handed access while riding.

Outer Shell Mini Bar Bag $60

While Outer Shell’s handlebar bag is still a favorite over here, the brand realized not everyone needs a bag of that size, prompting them to develop a Mini Bar Bag. Outer Shell made this smaller to fit little bikes and still carry the essentials – bars, wallet, phone, keys, a tube, and tools. With multiple mounting positions, the fit can be dialed for short head-tubed mountain bikes, long stemmed road bikes, and everything in-between. The slim top edge is designed to fit behind cables and tuck up neatly under computers, lights, and other accessories.

Available in eleven colors, including cow spots, and shipping today from Outer Shell.

New 44RN Finish: “Acid Contrast” Chainrings $185

This is the new 44RN camo color, at least for this season. A hand-applied two-tone acid-washed anodize. Each piece is unique, and it moves away from the chunky anodize a little bit. But Blue Lug in Japan, and King Kog in Brooklyn have some stock of some of the classic camo styles. They come in a hand-printed letterpress package that matches the color scheme.

Also introducing a new generation of Sram 3-bolt direct mount crank compatible chainrings (also fits those ee-wings jammers that everyone loves, and the new Engin ones too, also the 5dev and ignite). Re-engineered from the ground up for both MTB/Boost in 28 and 32-tooth, and for Road/Gravel (6mm offset) in 38 and 44-tooth. Some limited stock in black and silver in addition to the acid finish. Click through below to shop the collection…

110mm bcd available in 38, 40, and 42 tooth.
Direct mount available in 28 (boost), 32 (boost), 38 (road), and 44t (road).

TPC’s Museum Series Meet the Maker: Troy Lee

What do the likes of John Tomac, Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Ward, Jim Busby, and Dana Kirkpatrick all have in common? They have all flown the Troy Lee Designs flag during their infamous careers and they all agree that nobody does flames like Troy Lee. We take a look into the origin story of Troy Lee Designs and the impact that the Motorcycle world has had on the fashion of Mountain Biking. Follow us on a walk down memory lane as Troy reflects on his rebellious early years racing professional motocross which grounded his passion for speed and helped carve out a niche to create one of the most successful brands on two wheels, Troy Lee Designs.

Explore Your Boundaries Argyll & The Isles

After the success of their first two Explore Your Boundaries films, round the world cyclists Mark Beaumont and Markus Stitz have teamed up with Jenny Graham, the fastest woman to cycle around the world, and filmmaker and photographer Maciek Tomiczek to explore the boundary of Scotland’s Adventure Coast.

The Athlete Edits: Brooke Anderson x Esperanto

Surprisingly, Brooke Anderson isn’t the youngest athlete in Esperanto – and her riding certainly belies her age. The 16-year-old Ride Concepts athlete is a product of the progression curve that has gripped youth mountain biking in the last few years, and she’s absolutely not slowing down.

While she might call the loamy steeps of the PNW home, the draw of the Utah desert was too much to ignore. Lucky for her, she was able to join a group of mentors and friends on a dream trip to Virgin. There, she dug, hung out, and rode insane lines alongside Sam Soriano, Hannah Bergemann, Sophie Gregory, Blake Hansen, and Chelsea Kimball for a truly groundbreaking segment in Esperanto.
