Chas Christiansen offers up a unique hand-drawn doodle style of emblazing bicycle components. Over the years, he’s drawn on many things, from shoes, to disc wheels, and frames. The latter inspired his local shop, Beyond Aero to commission Chas to doodle on an OPEN Upper frame. Every nook and crevice is covered on this carbon steed. Riding a bike feels like the ultimate freedom, but it also involves suffering (sometimes a lot of suffering). The longer you ride, the further you go, the more it can hurt. Mantras keep me going, these small things that I repeat in my head to remind myself to enjoy the adventure and keep the pedals turning, to keep the Stoke alive.

This OPEN is covered in mantras that keep me moving forward. They shift the focus from the physical discomfort to the pure freedom and fun that is cycling. From PMA (positive or pizza mental attitude) All Damn Day, to the Fear is a Liar. These sayings run through my head, reminding me to enjoy every moment the pedals are turning, to SEND IT off
that jump.

The hope is that in these mantras others will find the same motivation, the same distraction from the suffering in their Search for Stoke. Roughly 100 hours, 7 DECO paint pens, rolls of masking tape and decades of adventures both good and bad to create this one of a kind gravel shred sled.
