… thanks to Nicholas Haig-Arack for this one. For some back-story, check out the homie Bicycle Pubes and make sure you check out more of Nicholas’ work, swoop one of his Mudman patches, visit Crossiscoming and follow him on Instagram.
One of the first big trips I’m working on for 2017 involves the roads of my favorite place on Earth. I can’t wait to have cyclists in all my recent Death Valley photos. Until then, enjoy the weekend and stay warm!
This time of year, the idea of leaving the bike at home and swapping mountains for man-made monuments was very appealing, especially coming off a trip to Tasmania and showing my mom around Death Valley for three days. I’d become inundated with nature and London was going to be the perfect destination this time of year.
I may not be the best raconteur but every photo I take tells the story for its intended audience. Or at least I hope that’s the case. When Bicycling pinged me to pull together their 2017 Calendar, they asked about the back-story for a few of the images. In a haze from cold medicine, I hopped on the phone with Lydia Tanner to explain what exactly was going on…
Check it out at Bicycling and if you’d like a copy of the calendar, swoop one up at Bicycling’s Webshop.
Thank you, London for giving me much needed perspective, some time off from cycling and an opportunity to express my love for dense, urban fabric through photography. While I didn’t get to do anything cycling-related, it did make me want to get back to document many of the shops, makers and builders in the UK.
Now, a serious question: any interest in seeing a gallery from my travels?
I’ve been in London all weekend for a wedding and our flat’s wifi went out, making getting work done quite difficult. It’s back now, so things will commence tomorrow as normal. Thanks for your patience!
As the sun sets over the Funeral Mountains, the Borax Hills glow a bright, almost fluorescent yellow. I spent the past weekend exploring the back roads of Death Valley National Park, showing my mother my favorite place on Earth and tying in some reconnaissance for a bike trip in February. Hopefully this image blows your mind as much as the moment did to mine.
My legs are still tingling from Tasmania and on Monday, we’ll wrap up our coverage with a killer photo gallery from Blue Derby, Tassie’s premiere mountain bike park. ‘Til then, get out and enjoy the weekend!
… from Justin Balog and the team at Squadra Avventura. Make sure you check this one out.
What happens when you take a night time allergy remedy and fall asleep in a dark room after battling jetlag all day? You wake up at 11am. I didn’t get a chance to look through content yesterday and woke up realllllly late today. Apologies! We’ll get back up to speed this afternoon.
It’s been a blast, Tassie, but I’m ready to get back to Los Angeles. Thanks to everyone who made this trip such a memorable experience and don’t worry, we’ve got more photos on the way!
I just wanted to extend a warm thank you to the readers, supporters and those who inspire this website. We couldn’t do it without you. Now go ride your bike this weekend!
… hanging with my mate Bazza the Blue Tongue and keeping him from getting squished by a Ute. Even with relatively wet weather over the past few days, there’s some great content on the way, so hang tight.
Hopefully you’re seeking this sound…
If you live in Los Angeles, please keep a look out for my Geekhouse touring bike. It was stolen this morning between the hours of 5 – 6:30am from my house. It doesn’t have fenders now and has a basket bag, but is very distinguishable. If you see it, throw a u-lock on it or call Golden Saddle Cyclery (323-661-1174). Leave a comment if you have any questions.

Get out a ride, race or rip this weekend! Next Monday I’m taking off for Tasmania, so expect tons of Reportage from the road.
This isn’t meant to be taken super seriously, I just wanted to say riding bikes with friends and watching the sun set over the city is exactly what I needed. Hopefully you had a similar experience.
