This weekend brings about the Sverigetempot premiere in Los Angeles. To give you a taste of what to expect, Ertzui has uploaded a teaser trailer. Check out all the information for the premiere at our archived post and info for the group ride on Saturday morning below.

Meetup at Golden Saddle Saturday morning 1/21 7am. All welcome, no drop, 35 miles, mixed-terrain with over 4,000′ elevation. Be advised, these roads are steep and the terrain is rough at times. You can ride it on a road bike, but a fat tire ‘cross bike would be best. Complimentary breakfast stuff upon return to GSC.

For anyone that can’t make it to the premiere, you’ll be able to view it on Specialized.com over the weekend!

Winter weather got you pining for long rides and cycle touring? Swift Industries is here to help with their Stoked Spoke series:

“Each evening highlights four to six self-supported bike camping routes complete with maps, slideshow and planning tips. This year the trip reports will be 5-10 minutes long. Once all of the presentations are finished, each presenter will host an information table where they will answer individual questions and have maps of the region they explored.

This is a three-part series that highlights the best bike camping destinations in Cascadia and beyond. Stoked Spoke is being graciously hosted by the Rhino Room once again (click for map), a full bar equipped with a rad set-up for screening Stoked Spoke and booths that are perfectly laid out for you to check out maps and learn more. Rhino Room is opening its doors just for us! (21+ only). We’ll be publishing a summary of each Stoked Spoke event on our blog, including route summaries and digital maps.”

I’m gonna have my work cut out for me with this one. Team Dream is hosting a ride, bike swap, BBQ and a bicycle show next weekend, January 14th at the Cub House in South Pasadena. All the info you need is on the flier, so bring your spare parts to sell and your best bike to show off. I’ll see ya there!

All-City is fleeing the snow and cold temperatures for a weekend in Los Angeles with the new Mr. Pink road bike. There will be two events, both taking place in Silver Lake. Check the details out below:

Mr. Pink Release Party Weekend!
Friday the 13th: Sunset Ride to the Blacktop. Ride meets at 3:30pm at GSC. If you can’t make it we’ll be back at 7pm for a reception!
Saturday the 14th: 60 Mile Road Ride. Meet at Intelligentsia, Silver Lake at 8am

Got a fancy custom bike? Bring it on down to Velo Cult in Portland this weekend for the Velo Cirque: Modern & Vintage Bike Show. The show will go on Saturday, which features vintage custom bikes before 1990 and Sunday, which feature any custom bike from 3pm – 8pm with a 10am vintage ride on Saturday before the show. It’ll cost you $5 to attend the show, unless you’re bringing a bike to display. Along with vintage bikes, featured builders will include Breadwinner, Belladonna, Littleford, Ti Cycles, Norther, and many more!

*Participants that will be showcasing their bike may only bring one bike and must bring a bike stand. Displaying for the Modern Frame Show must be built by a custom frame builder; no production or semi-production frame. Otherwise, all types of bikes are acceptable. Classic Frame Show displays must be made by custom frame builder before 1990.

The Speedvagen Fit Tour has been all over in the past few years, and this time it’s heading to the East Coast of the US, with stops in NYC, DC and NC. Be sure you check out the shops and dates below and see more information at the Vanilla Workshop!

“After a decade of pounding the pavé during the coldest and wettest month of the year – the Tour de Melburn is a summery twist on the cobbled classic – Melburn Roobaix. Inspired by the big bike race in France, FYXO is injecting all the fun and festive spirit – without the racing. Just like the other Tour, riders will ride in teams of two covering all points of the compass, using their brains in the pursuit of glory. Teams accumulate time bonuses for finding Melburn landmarks, far and wide, high and low. The teams with the most time bonuses up their sleeves will be awarded limited edition Yellow, Green and Polka Dot jerseys.

A Grandest Prize will be raffled to any team that makes it to the finish by days end just for enjoying the day with us – whether they make it first or last, with a musette full of points or none. The inaugural year is one not to be missed.

Curtis is the best and these series from MW are always a lot of fun… Here’s the scoop!

“Join us on October 22nd for an evening with Curtis Inglis of Retrotec Cycles. Hear about his 25 years building bikes, SSWC08, restoring British cars, and everything in between. We’ll kick things off with a ride* leaving the shop at 12:30 pm and return to beers and tacos starting around 5:30 pm, with Curtis taking the stage at 6:00 pm.

*The ride: It’s a cyclocross ride. Bring a cyclocross bike and extra tubes (a road bike won’t cut it). There will be rocks and singletrack with the route sometimes erring on the mountain bike side of the spectrum. We’ll be riding in the east bay. Bring some cash for a BART ticket or meet at Rockridge station at 1:00 pm. Not to be missed. Here’s the route.”
