36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Applications Open!

Kitsbow’s popular “36 Hours” grant program is open for applications until this Friday, March 19th. Here’s the gist on how you can apply:

“At Kitsbow we strive to fit it all in; work, family, and fun. But when it feels like the adventure is something others do, it’s time to hit pause and get after the journey. Escape and adventure are just outside our door. The key is to go. Busyness can trap us and keep us from necessary escape.

But, 36 Hours…now, that’s doable!

Kitsbow is accepting 36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Applications until Friday, March 19 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Want to learn more of the nitty-gritty details about the 36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Program? Then, be sure to review the 36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Program & Application Guidance Information

We invite you to apply and share your unique proposal by submitting your application here: 2021 36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Application & Proposal

If you have any supplemental documents that you’d like to provide to Kitsbow for your 36 Hours in Kitsbow Grant Application, please email to community@kitsbow.com

PAUL x Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship Box Set Giveaway

Our friends at Paul Component are looking to help out the team at Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship through a wicked giveaway! Check out the press release below…

When we saw the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship announcement that all events for 2021 were canceled due to Covid, we were crushed. Anybody who’s been to the Downieville Classic, Mountains to Meadows, or Lost and Found knows we LOVE supporting these events with our aid stations, and partying with some of the best bike weirdos in the world, in one of the most beautiful areas in the world.

SBTS rely heavily on these events to help raise funds and awareness for all the amazing trails they build in the Lost Sierra, involving, employing, and assisting the local small communities in the process. It’s truly inspiring to behold the hard and meaningful work they put in, and a cause we will trumpet until we’re out of breath.

What can we do to help? Well, we’ve decided to offer up one of our few remaining Limited 30th Anniversary Box Sets as a prize to one lucky person, chosen at random, who donates to SBTS by March 14.

Consider donating the amount you would normally spend for entry fees and this will help keep the trails and community in good shape for 2022 when we’re all back out there shredding and partying together!

So how do you win?

-Head over to the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship website and donate any amount you can afford.
-Forward the confirmation email you receive from SBTS to travis@paulcomp.com. That’s it! Paul will choose a winner at random after March 14th in some bizarre way, so stay tuned!

Want to see what the SBTS is all about? Check out our Reportage from over the years in the Related column below.

Enter to Win an Abbey Bike Tools Team Issue Toolbox and Help Raise Money for the Grow Cycling Foundation

Our friends at Abbey Bike Tools have their head in the right place with this giveaway:

When the Grow Cycling Foundation started in the Summer of 2020 it was something that caught the eye of us here at Abbey. Grow’s goals weren’t small, and they would definitely need some help to accomplish their first big one, building a pump track in Los Angeles with the goal of bringing a more diverse group of people into cycling. So, we hit them up to see how we could help. Pump tracks do not come cheap, especially when you want to build them in a metro area like Los Angeles.

We have donated one of our Team Issue Toolboxes for a sweepstakes that is happening through the
month of February. Our goal is to raise a modest $10,000 dollars, 100% of which will go to Grow Cycling Foundation. The recipient will not only get one of the most sought after items in our range, but also an hour with the Abbey Ambassador Team featuring World Cup mechanics John Hall from Intense Factory Racing, Brad Copeland from Scott-SRAM, Verg from Scott USA and Jason from Abbey. There are decades of peak race and event service between this group and the tech advice that can come from this session is hard-earned and priceless.

Enter here* to win the following:
-1 Team Issue Toolbox
-1 Hour with Abbey Ambassador Team (aka the best in the mechanic business)
*The sweepstakes is open to the US and Canada with the exception of New York and Quebec.

Reportage

A Sequoia Raffle to Benefit WTF Bikexplorers, Bikepacking Roots’ BIPOC Grant, and Antonio Chavez’s BIPOC Program

Whatever you do in this life, do it with fucking passion and power.

Make sure the world knows it – Edward B. Gieda III

I’ve been so inspired by the voices, initiatives and attitudes from our bicycle community in the last year in general and especially in the last couple of weeks of unrest and calibration of who we are and what we’re doing to each other. The calling out of toxic elements and the demand for change has a snowballing effect that is nothing but refreshing. I believe in the bicycle as a tool for change and grassroots movements like the Cycling Industry Pledge by WTF Bikexplorers is just one powerful example of how to drive change and hold us all accountable for our actions, or the lack thereof. For some, the bicycle will always just be a toy or a piece of sporting equipment but for many others, it’s a tool that enables change, growth and freedom.
